Job Summary
The Supply Chain and Logistics Manager is responsible for the strategic management and oversight of all aspects of the supply chain and logistics operations, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and warehousing. This role aims to optimize operations to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and materials, supporting the company's overall operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics and supply chain operations to meet company goals and customer demand.
- Continuously assess and optimize the supply chain processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing carrying costs.
- Manage warehouse operations, including storage and distribution of goods, and ensure facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Procurement and Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to obtain goods at optimal prices and terms.
- Implement effective procurement strategies that align with business goals and ensure a reliable supply of quality products and materials.
- Transportation and Distribution
- Manage the logistics of transportation and distribution, including routing and scheduling, to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
- Monitor logistics performance to identify and address delivery issues and areas for improvement.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all supply chain activities are compliant with local, national, and international regulations.
- Assess and mitigate risks in the supply chain by developing robust risk management processes and maintaining contingency plans.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain and logistics professionals.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages efficiency and excellence in all aspects of the supply chain.
- Performance Measurement
- Define performance metrics for supply chain operations that align with business goals.
- Regularly review performance data to monitor effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Logistics Manager, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work well with wide ranges of individuals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification in supply chain management is preferred.
